06/22/2013 - HS SOFTBALL - Lancers over Lady Hounds

The FM Bloodhound Girls Softball team was host to the North Scott Lancers Wednesday night, June 19th at Hoskins Field.  The Lady Hounds scored twice in its final at bat but that was not enough as they lost 10-8.  The Lancers scored in the first three innings to take a 6-1 lead going into the bottom of the third. Some errors by the ladies helped the Lancers score most of the runs. Only four of the ten were earned. The Lady Hounds tied the game with five runs... Chayse Lowney, Kayla Culbertson, Kaylin Featheringill, Alexis Pumphrey and Daylan Rainbolt. Pumphrey, Rainbolt and Lexi Schmidt each drove in runs that inning. An RBI single in the fifth broke the tie and then North Scott added runs to lead in the seventh. Pumphrey drew a one out walk, and then Rainbolt hit a double into the right centerfield gap. Ali Burghoffer hit a grounder, but the play was to first, and Pumphrey scored. Schmidt walked and then a wild pitch scored Rainbolt. A foul out ended the inning and the game. The Lady Hounds first run came in the bottom of the first. Lowney singled, Culbertson bunted her to second, and Featheringill doubled her home.  Jaycee Pumphrey took the loss. She did help turn a double play in the sixth. She caught a line drive with one out and a runner on first and threw to Schmidt at first to double up the runner. Featheringill was 2-for-4 with a double, and Rainbolt was 2-for-3. Alexis Pumphrey, Culbertson and Dravis added base hits.

The first game was the JV contest that they lost 16-2 in four innings.
